Mount Isa Police have taken the 50-year-old male into custody after he barricaded himself in a Webb Street residence for four hours on Tuesday.

Police informed the media that the man was taken into custody around 5:15pm.
District Officer Acting Superintendent Trevor Kidd said the situation was resolved and no one was harmed.
“The man was taken into custody as he stepped out of the house,” he said.
“It was an excellent job by police and emergency services at the scenes and we want to thank the community for their patience and support while the situation was being resolved.”
“It is an ongoing investigation to determine what offences may have occurred.”
“The declaration has been revoked and people can now move around those areas.”
The incident unfolded around 1.20pm on Tuesday when police were called to the Webb Street home after reports of a man allegedly armed with a knife making threats. Police made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act about 2:10pm on Tuesday.
An officer in protective gear was present at the scene while police negotiated to resolve the situation.
Acting Superintendent Kidd said the man was known to police and had not injured himself or anyone else.
Ambulance officers who were first on scene approached the man who allegedly made threats before barricading himself in the house and police were called.
The area quarantined off in relation to the incident was between Webb, East, Hilary and Marian streets.
