All together it had 14 students who have been graded throughout the year, highlighting the continued growth of the students.
Those who were graded to yellow belt (ninth kyu) were Terri-Anne Knight, Maxwell Tobin, Sophie Tobin, Logan Kingston, Jasmine Kingston, Danica Taylor, Mariana Taylor and Hennessy Reyes.
Riley Williams and Craig Williams both were graded to the green belt (seventh kyu) while Khoya Hogan, Tawhiri Hogan, Jed Wagstaff and Jack Martens all managed to reach the blue belt (sixth kyu).
Shihan Daniel Taylor congratulated all kyu grade students on their achievement in 2014.
The club held two separate dan gradings this year.
Michael Schraag was graded to second dan black belt.
His grading consisted of kihon kata and kata bunkai, with Schraag displaying great skill and knowledge in his grading.
With the bunkai, Schraag showed an advanced version of the tekki shodan bunkai, which Daniel Taylor thought merited congratulations.
Mustafa Al-Hassan and Maxwell Richards completed their first dan grading in November.
Maxwell Richards has been with the karate club since it started on March 9, 2010, when the club was known as Mount Isa Shotokan Karate-Do.
The club started PKSA in 2012, with Richards being one for the four originals who started in 2010, along with David Schraag, Michael Schraag and Caleb Dunn.
Al-Hassan has been with the club since the start of 2013 and is a first dan black belt in another style of karate known as go kan ryu.
Al-Hassan was with this organisation in New Zealand, were he ran his own dojo and has been very successful in national and international levels of karate competition.
Al-Hassan did extremely well with his grading.
Classes resume on January 27.
