Gold Coast chicken-dancing MP Ray Stevens is still in the mix for a cabinet position if the LNP wins government.

The Mermaid Beach MP and assistant minister gained national attention on Wednesday when he responded to a journalist's questions by remaining silent, and flapping his hands and arms, apparently unaware the conversation was also being filmed.

It was uploaded to the news website Independent Australia and YouTube and subsequently made its way onto other news outlets and social media.

Mr Stevens' antics were part of an attempt to once again dodge questions about his investment and consultancy involvement in a $100 million Gold Coast cable car project he has been trying to get off the ground since the 1990s.

Mr Stevens has refused to release advice from the Integrity Commissioner which he says approved his involvement in the commercial project while maintaining his parliamentary position.

Premier Campbell Newman, who said he has sighted the advice, said Mr Stevens was a "great bloke" and described his behaviour as "pretty funny" and "a bit odd". The Premier said he expected to see the video set to music.

While campaigning in Brisbane on Thursday, Mr Newman said he was done speaking about Mr Steven's dance and the Sky Ride project which prompted it.

"I made the comments I made last night and I won't be commenting further. I'm here to talk about health today," he said at a major policy announcement at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Further pressed as to whether Mr Stevens' Sky Ride links would preclude him from a cabinet position, Mr Newman deflected the question.

"I just made it very clear you've got all the comment you are going to get about his actions last night," he said.

"I'm not here to talk about things [presuming] Queenslanders will renew our brief to take the state forward and create jobs. I think that would be most presumptuous.

"I'm not going to talk about anything that pre-supposes a decision by Queensland."

Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk said Mr Steven's behaviour was "absolutely bizarre and absolutely disgraceful".

"This is a man who stands to make millions of dollars as a businessman when he is a member of parliament," she said while campaigning in central Queensland. "Not only is he a member of parliament, he is Campbell Newman's assistant minister."

"Why will he not declare what funds he's getting?

"He is the sole shareholder of the company with his accountant. He stands to make millions and millions of dollars and I think Ray Stevens should be more open in relation to coming forward with the Integrity Commissioner's advice."
