Police and surf lifesavers in helicopters, rescue boats and buggies continue to search for a 19-year-old man missing in waters off the Gold Coast for a day and a half.

The Kenyan-born South Australian man hasn't been seen since he disappeared from water off Surfers Paradise beach at about 12.30am Monday.
As early as Monday afternoon police said they held grave fears for the man, who was not believed to be a strong swimmer.
There's still no trace of him apart from the clothing he left on the beach.
Police believe the man was swimming with a friend in waist-deep water when he was hit by a wave and failed to resurface.
His friend searched for about half an hour before calling police, who kicked off the search.
Officers and surf lifesavers searched from about 1am until darkness fell on Monday but failed to locate the man. They used two helicopters, inflatable rescue boats and dune buggies known as rhinos in the search, which restarted at first light on Tuesday and continues at full scale.
It's been reported the search area has widened to include South Stradbroke Island.
