I'm a Queenslander, but what I've learnt in four years living in the "bush capital" is the locals are fiercely protective of their city and get their backs up when the word "boring" is mentioned.
The Sixers fans travelling down the Hume Highway need not worry about getting a parking spot or a hotel room, as there possibly are more Canberrans in Batemans Bay right now than the city.

WA premier Colin Barnett came out swinging at Cricket Australia for giving the final to Manuka instead of the WACA Ground.
"I don't know what sporting administrators are doing these days. It is about the players, it is about the audience, the fans, and it is about using the best facilities Australia has to offer," Barnett said.
"The WACA versus Manuka? I mean, I played football on Manuka - it's no great oval."
Ironic, given the WACA Ground is the most outdated cricket venue in the country, and its status as a Test venue under the microscope after it was left off this summer's schedule.
Perth also was not given any Asian Cup games while Canberra got seven, which might have sparked Barnett's sour grapes.
Pietersen could not even bring himself to come to Canberra and commentate on the match for Channel Ten, such is his loathing of our fine city.
After another Melbourne Stars semi-final choke, "KP" immediately bought a plane ticket back to England.
It's a shame, as a tour of the National Arboretum, the Dino-Science exhibition at Questacon and a trip to Brodburger would no doubt have swung his opinion.
And when Tony Abbott decides to give Scorchers English recruit Michael Carberry a knighthood at the change of innings, at least he'll have a short drive back to The Lodge.
