The pair are set to star on the 2015 series of My Kitchen Rules - the most watched primetime event of last year - starting on Monday.
Known as ‘Jac and Shaz’ the pair has described themselves as the life of the party on the show.
‘‘You’ll often hear Shaz before you see her,’’ says cousin Jac, who owns a fashion boutique in town.
‘‘I don’t think we’re typical mumsy mums, you know. We like to party. We’re the party mums,’’ courthouse employee Shaz said.
Jac, 42, and Shaz, 43, admit that much of their cooking inspiration comes from cooking shows, including My Kitchen Rules, with only two fine dining restaurants in Mount Isa.
‘‘If I’m watching the show I often want to try the recipes the next night.
‘‘I’ll think, ‘Let’s give that a go’,’’ admitted Jac, co-owner of Mount Isa’s Oasis Fashion.
Cuisines from Italian to Lebanese, Indian and Thai are regular on the menu at their homes.
‘‘We’ll cook anything really; we’re pretty eclectic,’’ Shaz said.
The pair have already caught the attention of viewers with their antics in the promotional ads for the show, promoting the pair as loud and without a care in the world.
‘‘I’m bossy,’’ Shaz admitted.
‘‘I’m the boss, but that doesn’t make me the head chef. It just makes me bossy.’’
The pair will cook in group one and are believed to be the first to cook on Monday night’s premiere with Manu Feildel and Pete Evans returning to host and judge the ultimate home cooking showdown.
