VOTERS have a clear choice when they cast their votes on Saturday – the two old, tired parties, who have run this state down and then constantly blame each other for the mess.

Or to have a real voice with Rob Katter and the KAP.
My record and that of my Parliamentary colleagues is strong. We have proved to be leaders in Parliament, bringing together members of the crossbenches to vote against asset sales and introducing bills that will get Queensland working again, such as the Ethanol Bill, and the Dairy Price Mark Bill, and voting against issues that will hurt the regions such as the year 7 transition.
For the past three years I’ve been a strong voice for Mount Isa in Brisbane and I’ve had a lot of successes for the electorate such as opening up national parks for grazing, overturning the ban on uranium mining, organising the Winton Rural Crisis meeting (which prompted the government to give a further $100 million for drought assistance), successful lobbying for extra capacity for the Mount Isa Renal Unit, obtaining $13 million in state and federal funding for hospital staff accommodation, over $61 million in community funding and $10 million in Royalties for the Regions, and seeing a second airline come to Mount Isa.
What has the LNP Government done with your hard-earned dollars?
■ Committed $5 billion to a traffic tunnel in Brisbane.
■ $675 million for an office building in Brisbane.
■ Proposed to sell off your profitable rail line and port assets to build a second sports stadium in Townsville.
Governments should earn your vote, not demand it. And the truth is that money still comes into the electorate, despite who holds the seat.
We have seen more than $61 million in community and sports funding alone come into this electorate in this term.
I have a record of working well with government on many occasions, across many issues.
I will only take them to task when need be, which is something the major parties can never guarantee.
If you want to reward a government that chooses to ignore the resource-rich North West and instead directs money to where there are votes, go ahead and vote for either major party.
If you want a bit of balance and a voice for the Mount Isa electorate in Brisbane, ‘‘vote 1 Rob Katter’’.
Key Policies:
■ Work with the government to ensure the gas pipeline is built from the Northern Territory to Mount Isa, creating jobs and enhancing our energy resources.
■ Work for a revised Royalties for the Regions program that will deliver 20 per cent of the region’s royalties back to that region.
■ Work with government to ensure a strong commitment is made to increasing water supply in Cloncurry/Mount Isa, Normanton/Karumba and Georgetown/Forsayth, plus increased allocation for local farmers on the Flinders system.
■ Finish the Hann Highway to cut eight hours off the Melbourne-Cairns trip.
■ Introduce Ethanol Mandate to boost jobs and industry and diversify agriculture, increase fuel security and reduce emissions.
