ALP's Simon Tayler, KAP's Rob Katter, LNP's John Wharton and One Nation's Scott Sheard were sighted at the school at 8am Saturday, along with volunteers offering how-to-vote cards to the line-up of voters.
Mr Wharton then travelled to Barkly Highway State School, where Cloncurry's acting mayor Bob McDonald was encouraging voters to support their LNP candidate.
Mr Tayler was expected to remain at Central for several hours before continuing to Sunset State School.
Mr Sheard said he managed to find volunteers to support him at all polling booths in Mount Isa.
"Hopefully we win," the One Nation candidate said.
