Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Dean Narramore said at midday, the mercury was sitting at 31 degrees in Brisbane, with 34 in the western suburbs and Ipswich.

"It's a warm day in the southeast, we should get to 34 degrees in Brisbane and 36 in the western suburbs, Gatton 35," he said.

"It's a warm sunny day across much of southern Queensland."

But while level of stickiness had dropped from tropical levels experienced in mid-January, voters were still likely to feel moist and sweaty while at the polling booths, or in the queue for a sausage sizzle.

"The relative humidity is around 49 per cent, so if you just went on that it would be fairly dry," Mr Narramore said.

"But the dew point temperature is around 20 degrees so it's still fairly humid out there."

Mr Narramore said whether or not the government changed, Sunday was likely to stay the same weather-wise.

"It'll probably be around 34 in the city tomorrow, and mid to high 30s for the western suburbs," he said.

"But we'll get a weak change on Sunday night into Monday morning... so cooling down with the chance of showers on Monday and Tuesday."
