The match pits the top Kiwi players from the region against an all-star Barbarians side consisting of players from the Rest of the World.
“The match unfortunately didn’t happen last year, due to events out of our control,” Barbarians’ Tom Robertson said.
“But we have re-invented it this year, to continue the rich history of the match, which is exciting.”
The North West Barbarians will consist of a combination of Cloncurry and Warrigals teams, with a sprinkling of Euros players in the squad.
“We have had a couple of runs together this week but ultimately, this match will be the first time a lot of our players have played together,” Robertson said.
“The fans in attendance can expect some free flowing rugby, with plenty of points expected.
“We will try and sneak a few trick plays in there, but the whole match is for entertainment more than anything.
“The New Zealand team also draw a huge crowd, so it should be a great atmosphere down at Rugby Park.”
The match kicks off at 7pm at Mount Isa’s Rugby Park, with the club house open until midnight following the encounter.
