The sign-on will be at Wellington Park from 9am to noon for all junior and senior players interested.
The game itself starts at 10am, with both teams keen to break the deadlock.
“The Waitangi match concept started back in 2010, with the Rest of the World team winning that day,” Mount Isa Netball Association publicity officer Barbara Baker said.
“The Rest of the World won again in 2011, before the event was rained out in 2012.
“The New Zealand team has proved too strong the past two outings, meaning the overall record is tied.”
Aimed as a bit of fun between the two teams, this year presents a couple of the promising younger players a chance to compete against their more experienced counterparts.
“The Rest of the World team will feature youngsters Steph Smith, Carmen Preston and Nicola Caldwell. It will be a great opportunity for those girls,” Baker said.
“We might even see Anne-Maree Giles return to the court for the first time in months.
“The New Zealand team will also be blooding young players, with quite a few of their regulars unable to participate in the match.”
