Charges against the man behind a parody Campbell Newman Twitter account have been dropped almost two months after he was arrested wearing an "I'm with stupid" T-shirt on the election campaign.

Iain Fogerty's case drew international attention when he was charged with public nuisance following complaints to police after he stood near LNP campaigners wearing the now infamous shirt.
The New Farm man, a vocal critic of the former government through his Not Campbell Newman Twitter account, said he wasn't surprised to see the charges dropped but they should never have been brought in the first place.
"The fact that police were called at all was an extreme overreaction," he said.
"The wasting of police time and resources by the complainants was an extremely stupid thing to do."
More than 10 officers showed up to arrest Mr Fogerty in Fortitude Valley in the opening week of the campaign after complaints to police.
It was alleged Mr Fogerty had been disruptive and pushed people but he said all he had done was "annoy the little LNP kiddies".
Footage and photos of the incident show him standing and waving near the campaigners.
Mr Fogerty pleaded not guilty to the charge last month.
On Wednesday morning, police prosecutors offered no evidence and Magistrate Christopher Callaghan dismissed the charges.
The 44-year-old didn't waste his chance to have a crack at people on the other side of the political fence, labelling the Young LNP members he said made the complaint "politically naive and fragile".
"If they are unable to cope with someone wearing a shirt with a dumb slogan, then they are clearly not suitable to cope with the far greater pressure that politics will bring," he said.
"I suggest they find a hobby more suitable to their delicate nature and leave elections to those with a more robust spine."
Mr Fogerty even went so far as to draw parallels between his arrest and the clampdowns on protest marches during the Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen era.
"Having that number of police turn up to that event was reminiscent of the marches in the '70s and '80s," he said.
"But I lay no blame at the feet of police.
"They were clearly doing a job in response to something."
Mr Fogerty has since retired his popular Twitter account after Campbell Newman's LNP government was booted out in the state election.
The 44-year-old said his arrest and court case was a "very interesting exercise in how Queensland works".
"I was never afraid or worried," he said.
"I was more amused by the whole event."
Young LNP president Luke Barnes, who was at the protest but denied he made the complaint, couldn't be reached for comment.
