The 43-year-old arrived at his brother's home in Tallai, in the Gold Coast Hinterland, about 10.15am to find the two men allegedly breaking into the house.

Police allege the 26-year-old Molendinar man and a 32-year-old Arundel man then assaulted the 43-year-old with a Taser, bound his legs and threatened him with a knife before stealing from the home and running off.

Officers searched the area near the Tallai Road home before finding the pair a short time later.

Gold Coast chief superintendent Des Lacy told The Gold Coast Bulletin the victim had gone to the house to help with renovations.

"The fellow drives to his brother's house to help him with renovations and upon arrival he sees a white ute in the driveway which has property in it," he said.

"The man calls his brother and then proceeds to question the driver.

"The driver allegedly tasered him and took him inside the house and bound him with tape. The victim's brother has realised something was wrong and called police who responded very quickly."

Both men were charged with two counts of assault and one count each of deprivation of liberty and armed robbery in company.

The Arundel man was also charged with possess dangerous drugs and possess utensil.

Both are due in the Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
