The Tweed Heads man was extradited from New South Wales to face charges stemming from the alleged armed robbery of a jewellery store in Burleigh Waters on the southern Gold Coast on August 21.
Police allege the man fled the store in Treetops Plaza Shopping centre on Classic Way with a gold bracelet.
It's alleged a second man picked up the 18-year-old in a vehicle, before the accused used the car to strike a shop assistant as he drove off.
The Tweed Heads man is due in Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday to face charges of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.
A police spokesman said it would be alleged the 18-year-old used the car as a weapon.
He said it was unknown whether the other man would face charges.
