The former Brisbane radio personality, who now works with her mother Jan running farmers' markets, will on Sunday throw a massive birthday party.

A party for her two cats, Princess Chops Marie and Prince Pee Wee Angel, who turn 100 "in cat years".

The shindig will be hosted at Dig, on New Farm's trendy James Street.

"I've had my cats for 21 years – March the 23rd is their birthday, so that's Monday – they even had their own sample bag at the Ekka," Power said.

"… I don't have children, so they're my children.

"They sit at the table with me and eat with cutlery."

Power admitted to having some misgivings about the event.

"At first I thought, no I'd look like an idiot, but then I thought I don't care. What do I care?" she said.

"So I'm having 50 of my friends, and they've had seven fathers and they're all coming, for a sit-down five-course lunch from (celebrity chef) Alistair McLeod with 'catapes' and Pussy Galore cocktails."

Power said guests would be greeted by Dame Edna Everage, be entertained by comedian Greg Sullivan and the Queensland Opera, and consume up to 700 bottles of wine.

"Everyone will be dressed as a cat," she said.

"There will be plenty of laughs and lots of being stupid."

Power appeared conscious of the eyebrows the party could raise.

"I don't think it's weird, I think it's funny. You've got to laugh at life," she said.

"These cats have been there through 20 heartbreaks and they know, they just sit there with you and purr.

"They're gorgeous and beautiful and I love them."

Power is no stranger to attention-grabbing stunts.

Last year, to celebrate her 50th birthday, Power married herself in a lavish Noosaville wedding.

Sadly, the marriage did not last.

"It was good, because then I could crack on to people at the wedding," she said.

"So the marriage didn't last long but the cats are still there."
