Ms Dickson said she was excited about the “entertaining and mesmerising” evening aimed as a ‘‘thank-you’’ to the men and women of the Emergency Services in the Mount Isa community.
“We worked really hard to put together an evening that was fun and entertaining and a little outside the box,” she said.
“We have an exciting surprise entertainer flying in from Cairns to perform the guests, and we have also managed to line up the amazing talent of local school girl and singing sensation, Alyssa Ventura who recently performed at the International Women’s Day dinner.
“Guests will be in for a very memorable night.”
The major event for the night is the live auction of a framed golf club signed by Australian professional golfer Adam Scott.
“There is already big interest from local golf enthusiasts and fans of Adam Scott, so bidding on the driver should be exciting,” she said.
‘‘The event is open to everyone in the public, and we would like to see as many people there thanking our emergency services workers and volunteers.’’
Ms Dickson said one of the major sponsors for the event, Kel’s Omorose, had ordered in a great range of men’s and women’s masks especially for the night.
“Getting an outfit together is quick and easy with Kel’s help,” she said.
The Masquerade Ball is on at 7pm at the Billabong Lounge, tickets are $120 a person, tables of 10 are available for the black tie event.
