The Damien Finter-trained galloper’s win kept his unbeaten record from two starts at the track intact, after the grand eight-year-old scored last year’s Cloncurry Cup.
Bianco Rossa ($3.20) held out $13 outsider Surpasser to win by 0.1 length in the 1200metre event. Surpasser’s stablemate Strumming ($13) ran third, making for seconds and third place in the race for Julia Creek trainer Tanya Parry.
The Gallows ran $2.30 favourite but was beaten 1.5 lengths into fifth in a bunching finish.
Bianco Rossa’s victory was a successful end to the day for Chambers, who also scored aboard the Wayne Crossland-trained Extra in the penultimate race.
Extra ($4) scored by a length in the Benchmark 60 Handicap (1200m) from Leica Duel and $2.50 race favourite Masataka.
Reformer ($3.80) made it two wins on the trot for trainer Philip Miller with an impressive win for jockey Jason Kropp in the Class B Handicap (1000m) from Nicabelle (second) and Skazia (third).
Mossale ($4) made a successful debut in the North West for trainer Bob Burow, ridden by Aaron Spradau to score in the Benchmark 65 Handicap (1200m).
Ghost Train ran second with Observer in third.
The opening race of the day was taken out by Russian Black ($3) for Julia Creek trainer Grant Wiles and jockey Steven Galvin.
Down’s Ridge started $2.25 favourite but was beaten 1.8 lengths into second with Ollie Ooba in third.
