Emery and Phillips scored six points, while Tautiepa dominated with 17 – combining to score 29 of their team’s 37 points in round eight of the women’s Mount Isa Basketball Association last week.
It was a slow start from both teams, but by the beginning of the second quarter Matariki came out ready and dominated the rest of the game.
Hoopers did not let the game go too easily with guard Kimberley Munro dropping 17 points for her team.
Celtics were dominant the entire game to beat Semi Pros 52-18.
Celtics guards Kamrynn Roberts (22 points) and Pearl Isaacson (17 points) put on a shooting clinic, both scoring in double figures.
Semi Pros’ Camilla Pope (8 points) and Kimberley Stokes (6 points) together scored 14 points for their team.
Divas beat Sonic Health 24-6. Divas played an outstanding defence game to beat Sonic Health 24-6 in a comfortable win.
Divas guard Kerry-Anne George (10 points) and forward Nadene Hardie (8 points) were on a roll last night with both scoring double digits.
Sonic Health guard Teresa Hodgetts scored four points for her team.
Sonic 2 found form to beat Kangas 49-27 in what was an outstanding game of basketball.
Sonic Health 2’s Trisha Ellis scored a whopping game-high 22 points while Kitana Hemi also contributed six points for her team.
Kangas’ Madeline Merrett scored a team-high 11 points.
In the social women’s, Semi Pros 2 put on a strong performance to defeat Pandamonium C 20-12.
Semi Pros 2 lead the game with Melissa Bell (four points), Eliza Durham (four points), and Emily Hetherington (four points) together scoring 12 points for their team.
Pandamonium C centre Keryn O’Regan played an excellent offensive game and scored four points for her team.
In the other game, Easy Beats dominated the last quarter of the game to beat Sonic C 11-8 in a very close contest.
With everyone from the team scoring points, Jenny Tully scored three points while Kellie Farlow, Danielle Germaine, Kirra-Lee Simpson, Neomi Simpson all scored two points each.
Sonic C players Gina Scott and Quiana Busch both scored four points for their team.
