The accident occurred about 10am, about 50 kilometres down Dajarra Road from Cloncurry.
There were two males in the car who received minor head and rib injuries.
‘‘Police are still investigating the incident, but it seems that fatigue may be a factor,” Cloncurry Officer Acting Senior Sergeant Matt Hows said.
“Seatbelts were worn which prevented much more serious injuries.”
Emergency services were able to respond to the incident immediately as someone witnessed the accident.
It is believed the pair started off in Mount Isa and passed through Cloncurry on their way to Malbon.
Sergeant Hows reminded drivers to stay alert when driving long distances.
“With the long distance we travel it is important to take regular rest stops to prevent driver fatigue,” he said.
