An investigation by Labor has been unable to find someone who meets the woman's desciption of her alleged abuser.

"The complaint was anonymous and did not identify the person against whom the complaint is made," State Secretary Evan Moorhead said in a statement.

"I have replied to the email to seek more information from the complainant. I have not received any further advice.

"There is no member of the State Parliamentary Labor Party or ministerial staff member who fits the description in the email. We will continue to investigate should more information come to hand."

Another member of the Palaszczuk Government has been accused of domestic violence against their former partner.

Fairfax Media can reveal a woman contacted the Premier after reading of the Billy Gordon affair and felt compelled to come forward.

She did not identify the person involved, giving only a description of a former job, adding "my abuser is now a member of your government and he is not Billy Gordon".

"My former partner habitually assaulted me with his fists, leather straps and any other implement that was handy," she wrote.

"...In light of your attitude to the Gordon matter I believe my experience should be made public."

A spokesman for the Premier confirmed the office had received another allegation and was "seeking advice", but would not elaborate.

The woman did not respond to Fairfax Media's attempts to contact her.

On Tuesday, a second woman alleged she had suffered domestic abuse from Mr Gordon. That claim is also being investigated by police.

It comes as Labor and the LNP attack each other over the handling of allegations the Member for Cook's former partner made in an email distributed to at least six MPs, including the Premier, Speaker Peter Wellington and LNP MP Tarnya Smith, in the week before and during the first sitting of parliament.

On March 27, the day after the confidence motion in which Labor proved it had the numbers to lead Queensland with the support of Mr Wellington, Mr Gordon admitted to having failed to pay child support and lodge tax returns..

The allegations from Mr Gordon's former de-facto were made public that same day.

But neither he, nor the Premier, made mention of the further issue of domestic abuse allegations, with Mr Gordon only saying some of the things the woman had written were true "and some were not".

The Opposition, which also knew of the domestic violence allegations, attempted to use question time on that same day to force Ms Palaszczuk to say she had confidence in Mr Gordon.

She avoided addressing the confidence issue, but did say he had given a "full and frank" statement to the Parliament and the matter was finalised.

Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg attempted a follow up question about whether Ms Palaszczuk believed Mr Gordon met her "high standards" but was shut down by Mr Wellington from the Speaker's chair, on a point of relevance.

Mr Springborg then asked if Ms Palaszczuk would commit "to ensure she will apply a consistent standard of integrity, probity and conduct" during her time as leader.

Ms Palaszczuk said she expected high standards "from all members of this house".

The domestic violence allegations were made public later that day by former LNP MP Gavin King, who said he had "spoken at length" with the woman "over [the] past three weeks" before publishing the allegations on his newly launched website.

That would put his contact with the woman ahead of when she first emailed her allegations to the Premier's department, on March 13.

Ms Palaszczuk referred the allegations to police once they became public. She announced that on on March 29 she had ordered the State Executive to sack Mr Gordon from the party for "dishonesty", following a crisis meeting at the party's headquarters the day before.

On Monday Mr Gordon resigned "to save the party the pain" of expelling him.

The LNP has accused Ms Palaszczuk of a "cover up", with Mr Springborg making repeated note that the woman told Ms Smith she was the only person to give her an appropriate response.

On Tuesday, while speaking in Mr Gordon's electorate of Cook with Ms Smith by his side, Mr Springborg said Ms Smith was the only MP to have shown the woman "proper care" through her response advising her to contact the police.

"Billy Gordon should go and the Premier should answer some questions and not attempt to make herself the victim," he said.

"Billy Gordon's former wife and family are the victims, they're the ones that reached out for help and they didn't get the help from the Premier that they needed."

Mr Wellington, who on Tuesday was outraged his correspondence with the woman had been made public, claimed it appeared she was being used by forces to bring down the government,

"I'm concerned the former partner of the member for Cook is being used to destabilise the government of Queensland," he said.

"If the member for Cook's former partner is going to try to play me for a fool and release every item of correspondence, that seems there is something else behind this."

Ms Palaszczuk has maintained she acted appropriately and swiftly and accused Mr Springborg of "gutter" politics.

"Domestic violence is not acceptable in any shape or form," she said.

"But domestic violence should not be used as a political football."

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Clerk, in response to Mr Wellington's request for advice, said there was nothing in the allegations to prevent Mr Gordon from sitting in parliament, despite Ms Palaszczuk, Mr Wellington and Mr Springborg all admitting their preferred option would be for Mr Gordon to resign and a byelection be held.

Neil Laurie also said the parties could not refuse to accept Mr Gordon's vote.

"There has been considerable talk in recent days about whether parties should rely on Mr Gordon's vote," Mr Laurie wrote.

"...Members vote from their seat and the votes of cross bench members (which Mr Gordon now is) are not apparent to anyone until such time as the Clerk verbally advises the vote of those cross bench members to the Assembly.

"The votes of cross-bench members are recorded after the votes of the government and the opposition.

"In other words, it is not up to the discretion of a party leader as to whether they are going to use Mr Gordon's vote - Mr Gordon has a right to vote.

"Furthermore, party leaders would not necessarily know what the vote of Mr Gordon was until towards the conclusion of the division after party votes have already been recorded."

Mr Gordon did not respond to requests for comment on Tuesday. The police investigation into the domestic violence allegations against him is continuing.
