Staff were told via teleconference on Wednesday about the impact the joint entity would have on all stations involved, including 4BC and Magic 882 in Brisbane.
It's believed 30 jobs will be lost in Sydney as the 2UE and 2GB stations merge, allowing for savings across on-air and back-end operations.
The other 20 are expected to be spread between stations in other capital cities, currently in the Fairfax Radio Network stable.
There has been no official word from the new company on what roles or staff members could be cut at the two Brisbane stations.
Talkback station 4BC in particular has seen declining ratings in recent years, despite concerted efforts to boost them.
The $200 million merger deal was made official on Tuesday after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission cleared it in late February.
