In a sign of a strong tourist season, running from April to September, Leichhardt Accommodation is offering all guests a free daily extensive buffet breakfast in its chef-run restaurant in an effort to attract more tourists to Mount Isa. An increase has already been seen in the days stayed by each tourist. Many people who were only planning on staying a few days have decided to stay on for a week or more to enjoy the many things to see in and around Mount Isa with the Cloncurry Trails Book and tours at Outback at the Isa.
“They see our extensive local minerals table and want to go out and fossick for themselves,” owner Glen Ashmore said.
“We send them to Outback at the Isa where they can do tours and get maps for all the great places to visit. While staying at Leichhardt Accommodation they have all the comforts of home and chef cooked meals or the use of the camp kitchens.
‘‘There’s nothing like a barbecue under the giant fig and curling your toes up on the grass.”
Leichhardt Accommodation is a large resort-style motel with 138 en suite rooms so it can comfortably house tourists, visiting trades people and travelling representatives. Staff pride themselves on extremely clean rooms and grounds and even offer free Wi-fi in all rooms so guests can keep in touch with loved ones.
Tourists coming into town with their caravan or tent can take a night off from roughing it in an affordable spacious room with air-conditioning, wash all of their clothes in the two on site laundromats and relax in the beautiful pool and wander the expanse of luscious gardens.
