Brisbane woman Jenna Louise Driscoll faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday after failing to attend a previous court date last Monday.

The 25-year-old was arrested last October on seven counts of drug trafficking or supplying, one count of unlawful wounding and three bestiality charges.

Police allegedly found footage of Ms Driscoll engaged in a sex act with a dog while investigating the alleged trafficking offences.

RSPCA Qld spokesman Michael Beatty said the troubling offence of bestiality was first and foremost a police matter.

"It is a criminal offence, it doesn't come under the Animal Care and Protection Act, it comes under the criminal code," he said.

"Our involvement would also depend on if there was abuse of the animal as well."

Mr Beatty said in his ten years with the organisation this was only the second time he had seen the charge laid.

"The other case involved an Ipswich man and a horse," he said.

In 2012, a 36-year-old Ipswich man admitted filming himself having sex with a horse then sending the footage to his ex-wife during their marriage break-up.
