Deputy Premier Jackie Trad's department is working through almost 300 submissions received over the future of Brisbane's newest suburb, the $900 million Cedar Woods on bushland between The Gap and Upper Kedron.

Ms Trad will make a decision next week on whether to call in the project, a statement from her office confirmed.
The new Labor government made the decision to review the project after it won office on January 29.
"Approximately 290 submissions were received from individual members of the public, groups, and public and private organisations," Ms Trad's spokeswoman said.
The basis for the new Queensland Government's decision will be whether the project satisfies both economic and environmental interests and if the project has been approved against appropriate development assessment.
"The Deputy Premier will be informed by legislation, departmental advice and the information provided in public submissions when making her decision," the statement said.
The approval of the suburb by Brisbane City Council in December 2014 was controversial on traffic, population density and conservation grounds.
The developer's own planning documents identified a major problem with koala strikes along Mt Nebo Road.
It was also a factor in the Ashgrove electorate where former premier Campbell Newman lost the seat to Labor's Kate Jones in January 2015.
By September 2014 about 1000 objections were received about the application to develop 1350 lots over 227 hectares.
However, by the time Cedar Woods was finally approved by Brisbane City Council on December 9, 2014, the scale of the project was reduced from 1350 blocks to 980 over 10 stages.
The density of the proposed development was also reduced to about 7.5 dwellings per hectare, about half the original ratio.
The main entrance would be in Leavitt Road near Upper Kedron.
Brisbane City Council and community group Save the Gap, along with and Cedar Woods developer Huntsman Pty Ltd, have made submissions to Ms Trad's department.
Cedar Woods managing director Paul Sadlier said the development included 91 hectares set aside as an ecological corridor.
"This is a low density project within the suburb of Upper Kedron that will transform heavily cleared, private land into a leafy, master-planned village-like community," Mr Sadleir said.
"More than 91 hectares, or 40 per cent, will be retained as green space and revegetated to provide improved habitat for local flora and fauna while the 10-year development process will provide an average of 500 direct land development and housing construction jobs per year."
Mr Sadlier said the project would deliver a range of "varied affordable housing options" and would provide 4000 jobs over the construction period.
However Save The Gap believes Brisbane City Council's approval downgraded environmental issues.
"It fails to properly protect or enhance the significant environmental values of the site, including koala habitat and significant ecological corridors that connect D'Aguilar National Park with protected bushland at Keperra," the group said.
The community action group – with strong Labor Party support – wants the approval reviewed to more closely follow the previous Ferny Grove Upper Kedron Local Area Plan.
The Ferny Grove Local Area plan contains a winding ecological corridor through the site plus a green belt of bushland on the southern edge.
However the new plan preserves 91 hectares of bushland on the southern edge, which rings Mt Nebo Road. The council says this more closely tracked koala paths.
The community group wants to make sure there is no southern access road to Mt Nebo Road, a promise made by Mr Newman during the 2015 election campaign.
Brisbane City Council believes the project was well scrutinised and received the appropriate responses from the necessary state government agencies, a spokeswoman said.
"The proposed development application was also referred to the Queensland Government's State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA) to provide advice on any state matters," the spokeswoman said.
The responses from state government agencies were fed into Brisbane City Council's decision-making process, she said.
Ms Trad will decide on or before 29 April whether to call in the project.
