High-flying Keas will go into the game as slight favourites after dismantling Cloncurry last weekend recording an emphatic 58-3 win.
A weakened Euros side come back off a 35-5 loss to Warrigals in a game that was much tighter than the score line suggested, according to a Euros spokesperson.
“We did well considering we only had 17 players. We held our heads up and we did pretty well. The game was a bit closer than the score indicated,” a Euros spokesperson said.
The last time Keas and Euros met was in a hard fought 12-12 draw a month ago where the referee mistakenly sent off Euros player JP Viiga.
This time around is sure to be a much different affair with bottom-placed Keas improving from game to game, which is pleasing for coach Charlie Potini.
“Like I told the boys at the start of the year, as long as we keep playing as a team right up to semi-finals, this is where it counts,” said Potini.
Euros is likely to welcome back three key additions to the side including captain and number eight James George, forward James Ulisala, outside centre JP Viiga, and flanker Corey Carlson.
Despite acknowledging their opponents great form heading into game, the Euros players are only looking to focus on their own game.
“They (Keas) did play good footy, but we’re not going to worry too much about them. We’re just going to go out there and play our game to the best of our ability,” a Euros spokesperson said.
The match starts at 7.30pm on Saturday.
