Ben Flanders and Jai Williams were among the dozens of Australians listed as missing by the Red Cross after Saturday's 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

Mr Williams' mother posted a message on Facebook on Sunday afternoon saying the pair were descending from the Mount Everest Base Camp.

"Thank you every one I might be able to breathe now," Deb Williams wrote.

"Still have no way of contacting [Jai] but know he will be in touch as soon as he can, (knowing his mother will be having a melt down.) Now we just have to get them home. Thanks again for all the love xx."

There were about 350 Australians in Nepal unaccounted for earlier on Sunday afternoon, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said.

"While there are reports of extensive loss of life, at this point there are no reports of Australian deaths," Ms Bishop said.

The Red Cross is compiling its own public list of missing people.

The list has several other Queenslanders yet to be accounted for, including Adam Jay Murphy, 27; Henk Reece Morgans, 32; James Scott, 49; Stephen Neary, 48 and Sydney-born Brisbane woman Samantha McGree, 25.

A nervous wait for the families of Brisbane men Stephen Delahunty, Adam Faichney, Scott Stuart and Karl Townsend is also over. The group, who were at the Everest Base Camp, contacted home about 4pm to say they were safe.

Nicole Stuart said her husband and his workmates were now trying to return home, but were unsure when that would occur due to damage in the area and flight delays.

"I'm hoping he's got all of the adventure out of his system in one hit and he's happy to hang up his trekking boots and officially retire," she said of Mr Stuart.

"It's a huge relief that they're all alive and well."

Earlier in the day, Mr Delahunty's wife Terri said the group had arrived at Base Camp but she hadn't heard from her husband after news of the earthquake broke.

"We're sweating bullets at the moment," she said.

"I messaged him and he's out of range, so there's not much more you can do."

News Corp reported that another missing Queenslander, Jackson Casagrande, had messaged his family to inform them he was ok.

Eighteen-year-old Toowoomba adventurer Alyssa Azar is safe at the Mt Everest Base Camp.

Ms Azar, who is attempting to become the youngest Australian to scale Everest, was on a climbing exercise when the earthquake and avalanche occurred, an expedition spokesman said.

"Our thoughts are with several others in the climbing party who by Sunday morning remained unaccounted for, as well as everyone else affected by the disaster at Everest and across Nepal."

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has opened an emergency call unit and says Nepal has been hit by disruptions to its telecommunications, transport and tourist infrastructure,

"I urge Australians concerned for the welfare of family and friends in Nepal to attempt to contact them directly," Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said.

She said Australia had pledged $5 million in assistance and would dispatch a disaster response team.
