“You get to serve your community and Australia, and develop invaluable personal and lifelong skills."
- Yasmin Dulley
For Queensland local, Yasmin Dulley, joining the Army Reserves provided her with that balance and desire to do something ‘more’.
“Joining the Army Reserve as a graduate allowed me to pursue a civilian career and use my academic skills and qualification to support the Australian Defence Force (ADF),” Yasmin said.
“The Australian community expects soldiers to be of the highest calibre, physically and ethically. I felt a duty to join and am committed to train and serve in the defence of Australia, as well as provide humanitarian relief and serve my local community.”
When she’s out of military uniform, Yasmin works as a solicitor providing legal advice to her clients about family law issues. Her strong sense of community and ‘giving back’ is something she takes with her into both her military and civilian careers.
“I would recommend joining the ADF because the personal pride, both individually and from your immediate friends and family, is beyond measure.
“You get to serve your community and Australia, and develop invaluable personal and lifelong skills,” Yasmin said.
The Army Reserve is made up of everyday Aussies ready to step up to the challenge. Reservists help local communities around Australia and abroad, and play an important part in providing the additional officers and soldiers the Australian Army needs.
