By participating in the day, Mount Isa school kids raised funds to provide care, treatment and support services for cancer patients and their families and to fund research into finding a cure and improved treatment methods.
Whatever the code - AFL, NRL, rugby union or soccer - wearing a jersey and donating this week, these kids showed their true colours.
Popular players Michael Crocker from the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Erik Paartalu from the Brisbane Roar, Jack Trengove from Melbourne Football Club, and Phil Waugh, the former New South Wales Waratahs captain are also lending their support to the cause.
All around Australia this week there will be footy breakfasts and morning teas, casual days, footy trivia competitions and treasure hunts to participate in and show support for the work of Fight Cancer Organisation.
Footy colours day is a Fight Cancer Foundation event and is usually held on the first friday in September.
