This year’s St Kieran’s Catholic Primary School Mother’s Day Fete promises to have something for the whole family.
Celebrating its thirtieth year of educating children in Mount Isa - and the Mother’s Day Fete – the school’s fete is sure to be a hit with plenty of food and prizes up for grabs.
Mount Isa’s newest celebrities, My Kitchen Rules contestants Jac and Shaz, will also judge an Edible Art Competition.
There will be a scary house, face painting, jumping castle, cent sale, ham wheel, gladiator ring and more than 140 Mother’s Day baskets available to buy.
There will be live entertainment such as Mount Isa dancing groups, live bands, show bags and novelty items.
St Kieran’s Mother’s Day Fete co-ordinator Ali McKelvie said the fete would not happen each year if it wasn’t for the help of volunteers groups such as Zonta, Rotary and Mount Isa Volunteers.
St Kieran’s Catholic Primary School principal Matt Tyrie urged the community to come along and show their support.
“It is a wonderful community event for our kids,” he said.
He said the driving forces behind the fete were the Parents and Friends (PNF) group and passionate parents supporting the school and the student’s learning.
The event will be held on Friday, May 8, from 6pm to 9pm, with a fireworks display and international food stalls.
Entry into the fair is free with a lucky door prize with the chance to win four ACDC tickets.
