The 2014 runner-up side will no doubt be itching for a full 90 minutes after its game last weekend against International A was abandoned 15 minutes into the second half due to a power failure.
Parkside A had a slight scare against 2014 champions Concordia A, but prevailed 5-3 in a goal-fest fixture of round three.
Last time the two sides met was a 3-1 triumph to Atlas A in a win that revolved around a strong defence along with goals to Andrew Fraser, Brian Silayo, and Andrew Frahm.
Atlas A coach Will Cook is confident his team can get the job done again and increase their lead in the competition.
“We haven’t lost a game yet and they’ve only lost one to us so we’ll be keen stretch the gap at the top of ladder,” Cook said.
But Cook is conscious that the Parkside team they face this time around will be a somewhat different look, and not just because of their solid recent form.
“From when we last played them, they didn’t have some of their starting players. I think they will have them back this weekend.”
Cook is also excited at the prospect of the B-Grade players at the club making the right strides into his team.
“The young B-Graders are stepping up. We will trial them in A-Grade on the weekend and so on just to keep the experience ticking over.”
Inter take on Concordia A, who remain the only side without a win, in the later match of the round.
Inter’s 3-1 result over Concordia last time around is the only occasion the reigning B-Grade champions have tasted victory this season.
Inter ran over their opponents in the return fixture and will look for a similar performance this weekend to help get their season back on track.
Concordia displayed some positive signs of a season revival in last week’s defeat to Parkside A, which earned plaudits from the winning coach Jae Dawes.
“They (Concordia) showed why they were last year’s premiers with a fighting second half.”
