Suspended Eels director Lawrence Shepherd was not one of the 27 candidates standing at the polls after having his membership suspended for three years after being charged with misconduct.

While the penalty also prevents him from coming within 50 metres of the club, Lawrence still made his presence felt on Friday when he apparently tried to sneak in incognito.

Wearing a baseball cap and Eels jacket, he did so clutching a letter from the Parramatta Park Trust, of which fellow Parramatta Professionals spruiker Denis Fitzgerald is a board member, claiming it as proof he had permission to enter.

However, the PLC turned him away as it leases the land from the trust and can refuse patrons who are suspended for disciplinary reasons.

"The club can confirm that suspended persons who have been trying to get into the club have been moved on," Parramatta Leagues Club boss Bevan Paul said.

As the scenes unfolded, Fitzgerald - the subject of an investigation by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing in relation to his tenure as chief executive officer - was seen capturing the images on his camera phone.

In a separate incident, one member was busted trying to vote twice on Saturday.

The latest dramas came a day after the police were called when Fitzgerald allegedly refused to move into the designated electoral areas.

Shepherd and Fitzgerald have gone on record as being advisers to the Parramatta Professionals candidates.

In another bizarre twist, Fitzgerald and former Eels captain Ray Price - who is backing the Parramount ticket - appear to have brokered an alliance, of sorts, after years of hostility in a bid to get the numbers to dethrone the incumbent board led by Steve Sharp.

WALKER CLEARED

South Sydney recruit Cody Walker is now eligible for NRL selection after being cleared of domestic violence charges.

The 2013 Intrust Super Cup player of the year was charged over an incident last October, but was found not guilty at a court hearing in Forster on Thursday.

The playmaker has added spark for feeder club North Sydney in recent weeks and the Rabbitohs have confirmed he is now eligible for selection for first grade.

Walker was recruited for the Storm to bolster the premiers' halves stocks and could be a handy option if required to cover for Adam Reynolds or Luke Keary.

TAYLOR SUPER SIGHT

Dave Taylor will be heading to the Super League at the end of the year if Gold Coast officials have their way.

The Maroons forward, whose lawyer was in court on Friday in relation to drugs charges levelled against his client and several teammates, is contracted to the Titans until the end of next year.

However, the club is keen to move the big bopper on and is prepared to pay part of his freight if it means freeing up some salary cap space.

Complicating matters is the fact the 26-year-old's court case is likely to drag well into next year or even beyond.

Should he move to the Old Dart, there's a chance he could become one of the first players to qualify for the Super League's marquee allowance, which is expected to be ratified soon.

Under the scheme, English clubs will be able to play marquee players as much as they like - with only the first 200,000 pounds counting on the salary cap.

TIMING OUT

The NRL's Women in League round is a wonderful initiative that celebrates the contribution of women at all levels of the game. But one has to question the timing of the festivities - why does governing body put it on a week after Mother's Day?

The Sharks got in early by sending all their female staff and player partners to a screening of chick flick Pitch Perfect 2 on Thursday. EAGLES TAKE HIT

Manly's bottom line has taken another hit after the club settled out of court the unfair dismissal cases of two female staffers. The Sea Eagles are expected to post a loss of $1.5 million for the financial year.

Mary Finkelsen, who looked after the club's key accounts and was also the conduit to the famed female supporters group Eagles Angels, was one of the former staffers to receive a payout.
