Fairfax Media understands that there has been disquiet among board members with Roulston's handling of the top job in racing.
It's believed other issues will be tabled about the leadership of Racing Victoria.
Fairfax Media understands a recent audit of board expenses will be discussed during the meeting.
Board members are keen to quiz Roulston over his expenses dating back six months.
Roulston was criticised earlier in the year for his lack of leadership and the indicators were then that the Melbourne bloodstock agent will be in danger of losing his post at RVL.
Roulston took over the leadership of former ALP attorney general Michael Duffy.
If Roulston is stood down as chairman it will end the long association with the ALP and RVL.
