The new Hungry Jack’s Mount Isa, which is set to open in the middle of the year, has come on board as the inaugural naming rights sponsor of the Isa Rodeo School.
The company’s support will significantly help young locals wanting to develop their rodeo skills, according to organiser Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo manager Natalie Flecker.
Ms Flecker said she was thrilled to announce the Hungry Jack’s Isa Rodeo School would be held on June 21 and 22, leading up to the main event in August.
Hungry Jack’s Mount Isa franchisee John Hodge said the sponsorship was designed to support junior skills development in rodeo competition.
“Without the opportunity for junior development, how will the young competitors get to professional level?,” Mr Hodge said.
“Through our sponsorship, we want to provide that foundation for the juniors.
The aim is to see one of the school’s juniors eventually win an Isa Rodeo buckle.”
The next Hungry Jack’s Isa Rodeo School will feature instruction in bull fighting and bull riding taught by Shane “Mad Dog” Simpson, winner of a Professional Bull Riding (PBR) World title in Bull fighting (protection athlete) and eight-time Australian Champion and the 2014 Isa Rodeo Open Bull Ride.
Champion Roy Dunn, nephew of the legendary Troy Dunn, is still the only Australian to ever win a World Bull Riding Title.
