The 53-year-old from Mountain Creek has been charged with threatening the safety of an aircraft and possessing restricted items.
He has been bailed to appear in Maroochydore Magistrate Court on June 18.
Police will allege the chopper was performing patrols above the Sunshine Coast about 7.30pm Thursday when it was struck by the green laser light. It is alleged the laser beam was shining at the helicopter multiple times.
Officers subsequently raided a Ewinga Court home and arrested the man.
They will allege they found the laser with him.
