LNP heavyweights Joan Sheldon and Rob Borbidge are heading the review, which is due to be handed down shortly.

But Mr Springborg said he considered the upcoming review, which party insiders are simultaneously gleefully looking forward to, and dreading, to be "encouraging in regards to how we need to make sure
that we can rebuild, and not repeat the mistakes that we made on behalf of Queenslanders".

"Most Queenslanders, it would be fair to say, supported that the government was competent in its administration of government, but did not like the way the government went about its job and I think that's
a fair point," he said on Sunday.

"We'll wait and see what the review actually recommends, but since the state election, certainly myself and my team have been travelling around Queensland.

"We've said that the asset leasing agenda, which we took to the last state election and asked for Queenslanders views, are now off the table.

"That's what Queenslanders want. Also, they want a government which has a far more inclusive style.  We did not necessarily do that...even though we ran the state well."

Mr Springborg said the LNP had already changed.

"We're already reviewing our policies and indeed the general view of most people is that in the crucial portfolio areas of health and education, law and order and transport, they are generally quite happy
with what the government did," he said, adding he believed Queenslanders just wanted the LNP to be "better" in communicating its messages with the public.

The review, usual after an election loss, has created much mirth for the government, particularly Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk who has made much of the "sealed section" - the part of the report only available to key party members - in Parliament.

LNP campaign manager and state director Brad Henderson has already resigned from his position within the executive, ahead of the review findings.
