Not content with having helped the LNP to lose government, Queensland unions are working on a new plan to see if "it has really changed" ahead of the 2018 state election.

Marginal LNP seats Whitsunday, Chatsworth, Mt Ommaney and Everton are among the electorate target list for the Together Union as it begins its campaign to see the government's industrial relations laws pass the minority parliament.
The IR Laws, which are due to be debated later this year, aim to "reinstate employment security for public servants, protections against the contracting out of government services, restore immediate right of entry provisions where there are suspected safety concerns, restore the Industrial Relations Commission and return Labour Day to March".
The legislation also includes the union encouragement clause that the previous government stamped out.
Critics of the legislation, including Opposition leader Lawrence Springborg, said the government was just rewarding "union mates" and that the Newman Government provisions had streamlined the public service.
"What we are seeing now is a situation where Labor is having to pay the piper," Mr Springborg said, singling out the union encouragement clause in parliament last week.
"The policy was wrong then and it is wrong now."
But Together Union state secretary Alex Scott said the legislation was merely 'righting wrongs'.
"With a hung parliament every vote can be the difference between this bill becoming law or a continuation of the most anti-workers laws ever in Australia," he said.
"This is the first volley in the 2018 state election.
"Every LNP MP needs to understand that we hold them to account for every vote in this parliament.
"The Newman government's decision to force doctors onto individual contracts was a turning point for the Newman government as was the attack on employment security of all public sector workers.
"The LNP MPs now have decided to continue with these unfair and unpopular policies.
"No MP can say in 2018 that the LNP has changed its approach to these issues if they vote against this Bill in June.
"The LNP is on track to lose ten seats at the next election based in today's polls and attacking workers rights costs the LNP primary votes but also increases the preference flow from the minor parties away from the LNP."
The union campaign, which began last week and includes direct mail as well as "other activities", is set to continue for the next three years.
"We have not forgotten what the Newman government did, the community has not forgotten what the Newman government did, the LNP need to decide if these are the policies they want to take to the next state election," Mr Scott said.
