A Morningside father and son have been charged over a violent street robbery in Fortitude Valley on Monday night, in which a couple were randomly attacked and robbed.

Police will allege the 43-year-old and 17-year-old were driving along Ballow Street, between Ann and Wickham streets, about 11.40pm when they stopped and confronted a man and a woman who were walking along the street.
It will be alleged the father and son assaulted the man. It will be further alleged that when the woman went to the man's aid, she was also assaulted.
The pair then allegedly stole items from the woman's handbag before fleeing the scene in their car.
Police arrested them in the Brisbane CBD a short time later.
Both were charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and robbery.
The 43-year-old man was also charged with drink driving.
The victims, a 46-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, were taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment.
Both men are scheduled to front Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
