A goal in both halves from the Power women, along with a first-half goal to Welita Sloan, meant Aces Yellow won comfortably over T-Birds in round eight.
Aces Yellow players Aimee Power and Nicole Landsberry were outstanding,while Aimee Moore and Chelsea Martyr were T-Birds’ best performers.
In Friday night’s game, a double from Louise Brogden inspired undefeated Aces Blue to a 2-0 win over Hornets, keeping the two Aces sides fighting it out for top spot.
Monique Sanchez continued her great run of form, scoring two goals for the Pirates in a strong second-half.
Pirates, which have not lost in six games, toppled Hornets 4-0.
Jodie Peats and Bec Lovelock notched up one goal each for Pirates while Jade Smith was also instrumental in the win.
Regardless of the scoreline, Hornets held strong, with Jos Murphy and Fiona Liddle standing out for the losing team.
In the men’s competition, Pirates and Aces played out a tight contest with a 1-1 draw.
Josh Fletcher and Justin Moffitt both scored a second-half goal for Aces and Pirates respectively.
Ryan Philips, Travis Chirio, and Miebake Dede were notable performers for the winning team.
Three first-half goals were more than enough for Hornets to record a 3-0 win over T-Birds.
A Luke Pyke brace and a Graham Holdsworth goal helped Hornets get back to winning ways after last week’s thrashing by Aces.
