Changing of guards: Matthew Wright once oozed fantasy potential, however has dropped off significantly since averaging 85.2 in 2012. Luckily a fellow midfield/forward in Mitch Grigg has picked up where Wright left off, with an average of 86 over the last five games.

BRISBANE

Continuity: Stefan Martin was the free agent pick up of 2014 with an average of 112.2, but questions were raised as to whether or not he could replicate similar figures this season. An average of 105.7 says he can. Despite being dominated by Shane Mumford on the weekend, Martin still produced 116 points.

CARLTON

New breed: Another week, another significant change for the Blues. Tom Bell and Patrick Cripps are readymade replacements for Chris Judd and will see ample time in the midfield. Farewell, champ.

COLLINGWOOD

Touch and go: Adam Oxley was sublime against Melbourne, but the added hype surrounding him means teams are acutely aware of the damage he can do when left unopposed. Some consistency would be great too, Ok.

ESSENDON

Penny shares: If Paul Chapman is rested for a week or two as some reports suggest, it would be a wise move to swoop on him for next to nothing. Keeper league disclaimer: Ignore.

FREMANTLE

Record breaker: Just a week after setting a new AFL record for hitouts in a game, Aaron Sandilands set another – this time, for hitouts to advantage. Now to get more of the pill on the spread.

GEELONG

Great escape: If Joel Selwood holds a key post in your midfield, you best be counting your lucky stars that he wasn't cited for suspected eye gouging on Ben Howlett.

GOLD COAST

Roulette: If the Gold Coast have the faintest of hopes of beating Fremantle, Tom Lynch will play forward. After playing at both ends for scores of 86, 82 and 83 over the last three weeks, this week poses a massive test for both the Suns' audacity and Lynch.

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY

Unsung star: We now have to seriously ponder, if Callan Ward was still at a Victorian club, how much publicity would he receive? 149 points against Brisbane and was absolutely dominant.

HAWTHORN

Unlikely breakout: Perhaps one of the most surprising and low-key breakouts is that of Jack Gunston. At 193cm he is a tall forward in nature; however Gunston is almost anything but, with a midfield-like average of 95.9.

MELBOURNE

Rising Star: There is no doubt Angus Brayshaw is talented, but who would have assumed 2014's third overall draft pick would have this much fantasy relevance in his first season? Scores of 90, 94 and 83 across his last three weeks means Brayshaw is a must-have stock in any keeper league.

NORTH MELBOURNE

Tall timber: It's a good time to be a tall at North Melbourne, whether it is in the ruck, or deep forward. Todd Goldstein has recaptured his early season form, while veteran Drew Petrie is averaging 98.2 across his past five games.

PORT ADELAIDE

Elite Performance: Welcome back Justin Westhoff. In a hypothetical competition as to who is the best forward/defender in Ultimate Footy, it would be extremely hard to separate Westhoff and Shaun Higgins. Perhaps Westhoff's 132 narrowly edges Higgins' 119.

RICHMOND

Nonchalant scoring: An upset win over Fremantle reaped rewards for Richmond's fantasy scores as nine Tigers clocked up 85 points or more, all of whom carry fantasy value. A bye this week will work wonders.

ST KILDA

Vintage Joey: While the new guard of Jack Steven and David Armitage announce themselves, the St Kilda fantasy stud of days gone by, Leigh Montagna has proven that he is still classy, scoring 123, 114 and 112 across the last three weeks.

SYDNEY

Midfield maestro: Gold Coast bucked the trend on the weekend, sending Andrew Raines to Luke Parker, who tends to escape the tag. While he still managed 102 points, it goes to show Sydney's midfield is brimming with fantasy studs.

WEST COAST

Frustration: Mark LeCras may be the most frustrating fantasy prospect in 2015 scoring 50s in some weeks and inflated 100s in others. If only he can impact the scoreboard on more occasions.

WESTERN BULLDOGS

Response: After being dropped in Round 7 for two weeks, the re-emergence of Jack Macrae is well worth the wait for both Luke Beveridge and Ultimate Footy coaches. He finished with 31 touches, eight tackles and 130 points.
