Our crack (pot) team reassembles to run the rule over round 11 of the 2015 season.

The panel:
David Prestipino (WAtoday producer, footy tragic); Simon White (WAtoday chief puppet hater); David Baker (WAtoday's token Pom); Nick Alviani (Radio 6PR Mornings producer, world champion paper tosser); Paul Entwistle (rant merchant extraordinaire); Ben Cameron (Radio 6PR Sports Today producer).

Presto:
1. Geelong has found its groove, and it's the young guns leading the dance. The Cats' high-def mix of youth plus wily experience will have teams in a spin come September..
2. Nat Fyfe might need to change how he maximises his strength at stoppages - umpires are now giving him less time to dispose of the ball once he breaks through a pack of opponents. 
3. I'm a big believer in hoodoos… and hopefully Melbourne's 21st loss in a row at Etihad will usher a change of fortunes. The game itself was a celebration: a see-sawing nail-biter that was probably the match of the (boringly-shortened) round. Fans of both teams should feel excited about their futures.

Whitey:
1. Fremantle should throw whatever it can at Melbourne's young key forward Jesse Hogan when he comes out of contract in 2017. Truth be told, the Dockers could use Hogan being on the market right now.
2. Brent Harvey could play on another three years and remain a one-time premiership player. It's hard to see North finding anything to tip it over the edge, from being a solid and dangerous team to a true contender.
3. The closing moments of the Melbourne-St Kilda clash had everything that's great about football. High drama, a temporary hero (Jeremy Howe), a permanent hero (Leigh Montagna) and a goat (whoever was responsible for not getting the message to the Demons players about how much time was left).

Bakes:
1. The Dockers were less than emphatic against an injury-ravaged Gold Coast but teams in contention come finals have to learn to win ugly. It's not easy to pick up points while under-performing but the Dockers know how to get the job done.
2. Jack Darling's return to the Eagles means West Coast has the most diverse and dynamic forward line in the competition. The pressure from the front against the Bombers was relentless and they all look desperate to get among the goals. 
3. Adam Goodes and Boomer Harvey are probably the most booed players away from home in the AFL - and given they can still set the game alight after a combined 755 games it comes as no surprise that opposing fans hate them. The pair both had moments of brilliance on Saturday and could play on next year if they wanted to.

Nick:
1.  If the AFL had a mark and goal of the year combo Chad Wingard would be the clubhouse leader. His one handed mark and banana from the Adelaide Oval pocket was top shelf. 
2.  Aaron Sandilands loves breaking records. Seventy hitouts against the Suns a new AFL record bettered the 69 he set two weeks ago. 
3.  Daniel Cross is the handball king. His 16 handballs against Melbourne saw him take the record for most games (129) with 15 handballs or more.

Vent-wistle (@backofhouse):
1. Fremantle's win on the weekend was anything but a lucky escape. For a side that has played more wet weather games in the last three weeks than sides usually play all year, the win showed that even under enormous fatigue and pressure the Dockers will find a way to win.
2. Energy South Australia and Port Adelaide FC have launched an investigation into the loss of Power at Adelaide Oval on Friday night. The season is far from over for the South Australia's second side but for a team that missed a grand final appearance last year by less than a goal, 10th on the ladder is a real concern. 
3. Essendon proved the only stat that matters is on the scoreboard at the end of the game - especially if you're not going to take the ruck contest seriously. Essendon had more kicks, handballs and contested marks with a greater efficiency against West Coast but unfortunately, courtesy of Nick Naitanui and Callum Sinclair, most of that was in the Bombers defensive half.

Benny:
1. Fans will continue to boo Adam Goodes while the media talk about it. The irony here isn't lost on me. 
2. Collingwood is better placed than 12 months ago. Nathan Buckley said it and I believe him. The Pies started last year 8-3 before finishing 3-8 and missing the finals. That said, they've got Fremantle, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide and West Coast after the bye. 
3. Melbourne should lobby the AFL to never play at Etihad Stadium again. The Demons haven't won there since 2007.
