A 79-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, after he allegedly stabbed another man in his 70s in the face and neck in Brisbane's north.

Police were called to an aged-care facility in Sandgate about 1pm on Monday, where they found a 76-year-old man with cuts to his face and neck.
He was taken to the Prince Charles Hospital for treatment.
The 79-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder.
He is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
