The Blues' State of Origin preparations have been thrown into further uncertainty with Robbie Farah refused permission to board a flight to join his teammates because of recent surgery to his hand.

Farah was due to arrive at the Blues' Coffs Harbour training base on Wednesday afternoon but was stopped from flying the Virgin Australia flights with fears surrounding his health. Blues officials were scrambling to gain a medical clearance for Farah to fly as soon as possible after having surgery on his hand on Tuesday night.
The NSW camp remains unsure when Farah would be allowed to fly. The Blues vice captain underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken hand in a bid to fast-track his return from injury in time to play in the Origin decider on July 8. The fractured metacarpal in his right hand usually takes at least three weeks to heal. A plate and screw were inserted into his broken hand.
Back-up hooker Michael Ennis is expected to join the NSW squad on Thursday. Josh Reynolds has left the squad but the Bulldogs utility will return to camp on Friday.
