The Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission has poured cold water on speculation more athletes will be charged in relation to illicit drug use.

Despite intense speculation that more players would be in line for criminal charges after claims made by Queensland Reds player Karmichael Hunt allegedly implicating former Gold Coast Suns teammates, the CCC says there is not enough evidence to warrant further athlete charges.
"While a range of information and allegations have been raised during the course of the investigation, the CCC does not have sufficient evidence to warrant further criminal charges against any player from the AFL, NRL or ARU," the statement read.
The commission investigation has already resulted in charges against Hunt who pleaded guilty to drug charges in March. A string of other high-profile athletes, including Gold Coast Titans players Greg Bird, Beau Falloon, Jamie Dowling, Dave Taylor and Kalifa Faifai Loa, are fighting drug charges.
The CCC said its focus remained on a wider investigation.
"As the CCC has repeatedly stated, its investigation is focused on the syndicate and not on illicit drug use in sport," it read.
"The CCC's investigation has focused on individuals who are alleged either to be involved in the syndicate or to have sourced illicit drugs from the syndicate."
The CCC also confirmed the Gold Coast Suns had contacted them seeking the statement Hunt made to police, but the club wouldn't be getting it from them.
"The CCC appreciates that the Gold Coast Suns are progressing their own internal processes but given that there are related matters before the courts, the CCC has advised the Suns today that it is unable to assist with any request for operational information."
The Suns would have to go through Hunt's lawyers to obtain the information, with the ultimate decision likely left to Hunt himself, due to professional privilege.
Gold Coast Suns CEO Andrew Travis began interviewing players this week about Hunt's claims, imploring them to come forward with any knowledge or involvement with illicit drug use.
The AFL Players' Association is also reportedly set to meet with the club on Thursday as the interviews continue.
While Hunt's matter has been dealt with by the courts, the five Titans players pleaded not guilty and their case is next set down for mention set on July 6.
Hunt is currently in a train-on camp with the Wallabies and both the QRU and ARU have stood by their marquee man in the wake of the reports.
