Three Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are at the scene of a grass fire burning in the vicinity of West Street, Mount Isa.

A QFES spokesperson said the fire broke out around 2.20pm on Friday and there was no threat to property at this stage.
Fire crews are conducting back burning operations to contain the fire.
The spokesperson said Mount Isa residents may be affected by a large smoke haze throughout Friday afternoon.
"Residents are advised to shut windows and doors. Those who suffer from respiratory illnesses should keep medications close by.
"Motorists are advised to drive to conditions."
