Blues back-rower Beau Scott will miss Newcastle's clash with Canberra after taking an early guilty plea for his grade-one dangerous throw on Cameron Smith in the State of Origin decider. Joseph Tapine is expected to start in his place, while Paterika Vaivai is tipped to make a move onto the bench. At this stage, the club expects Dane Gagai to play after making his Origin debut on Wednesday, but Chanel Mata'utia will travel as cover just in case.

There are reports Paul Gallen is confident of playing for the Sharks on Sunday afternoon against the Dragons, who will be without Trent Merrin who was suspended for four games despite taking an early guilty plea for a grade-two dangerous tackle on Corey Parker. Joel Thompson and Jason Nightingale will make their returns from injury.
The Titans have no concerns for their game against Manly, despite making a number of changes, including moving James Roberts to the centres and Josh Hoffman to five-eighth. Manly are unchanged.
