There were reports that snow had started falling in Stanthorpe, just over the NSW-Queensland border, early on Monday.
Thredbo reported 25 centimetres of fresh snow overnight, while Perisher recorded 10 centimetres of snow in the same period.
Large parts of NSW were subject to a severe weather warning on Monday, with damaging winds gusting up to 100km/h forecast for the Illawarra, Central Tablelands, South Coast, Mid North Coast, Hunter, Northern Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains forecast districts.
