Atlas A was out for revenge in round 10 in a game that was played with some serious intensity after the Scottish and Irish Cup grand final last weekend.
The very first challenge saw Parkside A’s Josh Celona go down with an injured ankle forcing Parkside A coach Jae Dawes to replace Celona with his younger brother Nick, who had already played a full 90 minutes in B grade earlier.
The game was a great spectacle of free-flowing football with chances to both teams before Atlas A scored the opener through a clinical finish from Andrew Frahm.
Atlas A then took full advantage of a direct free kick in a dangerous area two minutes before half-time with central midfielder Billy Orsag slotting a still ball to make it 2-0.
Parkside A came out of the sheds in the second half determined to chase the game and was rewarded early on.
Hennessy, deemed man of the match by Dawes, picked up his own parried shot from the Atlas A goalkeeper and the Parkside winger promptly fired home to bring the score back to 2-1.
Five minutes later it was 2-2 after a handball in the box resulted in Damien Boughton burying the penalty giving the Parkside A players a huge boost.
Parkside A was caught out after Atlas A striker Andrew Fraser scored after making use of a long throw-in by Frahm into the box, which had the Parkside A defence in shambles.
Parkside A continued its pursuit of an equaliser and it eventually came with 10 minutes remaining.
Hennessy found space once again down the right flank crossing the ball to Josh Filewood, who made no mistake from six yards out.
Parkside coach Dawes said he was disappointed not to take the three competition points despite admitting the 3-3 draw was a fair result.
In the earlier game, Concordia A finally landed its first win of the season with a 5-3 victory over International A thanks to a five-goal haul from in-form striker Anthony Bulgarelli.
International A was first to take the lead through a Shaun Sloan converted penalty only to be cancelled out by Bulgarelli minutes later with his opener.
Shaun Sloan bagged a second goal while David Scott added a consolation in International A’s first defeat to Concordia A this season.
