More than 1000 people attended the two-day event enjoying about 40 exhibitors and poster displays from various Mount Isa organisations promoting healthy lifestyles.
With two celebrity guests, country singer Troy Cassar-Daley and chef Daniel Churchill, there was plenty of encouragement for Mount Isa to become healthier.
Mr Cassar-Daley said his advice for being healthy was to be active, have everything in moderation and to enjoy life.
“What makes you healthy I think is being happy,” he said.
North West Hospital and Health Board chair Paul Woodhouse said there were plenty of chances to receive advice from experts and many members of the community took the opportunity.
“The 2015 Mount Isa Health Expo was an overwhelming success, in terms of the opportunity to interact with wellness-themed entertainment, demonstrations and exhibitors, as well as the public support and attendance,” Mr Woodhouse said.
“After this year’s expo, the community will walk away with some health info and advice, as well as picking up some fun skills and enjoyable entertainment.
“Together we have to seek better ways to put a dint in our health statistics for the good of all of our North West families.”
