Mr Tieppo left at the end of last term to take up a position as principal of Kuraby Special School in Brisbane’s southside.
“In the two years as principal, the special school has celebrated many significant achievements such as the school’s 40th anniversary, refurbishments of the covered play areas, upgrade of the school’s technology and communication systems as well leading a school team to develop and implement the Australian curriculum to the needs of the students,” Mr Tieppo said.
“Along the way, Glencore have helped the school as well other local businesses of Mount Isa.”
Mr Tieppo sid that in all of his years as an educator the staff of the school are one of the most dedicated and committed professionals he has had the pleasure of working with.
New principal Geoff Miller started in the role at the beginning of term three.
“He was a teacher in the school at the beginning of last year and now returns as principal and is very excited about the opportunity to continue the momentum of a highly effective school contributing to the education of children in Mount Isa,” Mr Tieppo said.
