Pssst: Mathew Stokes not yet extinguished

Geelong veteran Mathew Stokes was dropped from the Cats side to face Greater Western Sydney, leaving his career precariously placed. Stokes is among the seven Geelong-listed players over the age of 30 whose contracts expire at the end of the year, but Pssst hears that as of recently Stokes had remained keen to play on in 2016 so long as his body was up to the task. The midfielder has played 11 games this season, and was the starting substitute last week after being substituted out the previous week.
